Our red Wine Carracedo conquers the jury of Sommeliers Choice Awards 2021

Sharing news like the one that we are telling you today makes us very excited in Bodega del Abad. We are working hard and caring in every process in the vineyard and in the winery to offer high quality wines and the truth is that receive this kind of awards makes us very happy. And that is because the wines of Bodega del Abad keep adding national and international recognitions on prestigious contest in its twentieth anniversary.

Today we like to talk about the third edition of the prestigious Sommeliers Choice Awards celebrated in the United States this past May. Our red wine Carracedo, one of the most special wines of the winery has obtained a double gold medal by being rated with 96 points from the jury. That score makes it one of the four unique wines to get that medal (only one with a higher score of 97 points), being the only one Spanish wine to get it. And, if that is not enough, Carracedo has been recognized in this contest as Wine of the Year by Country and Wine of the Year by Glass.

Besides that, another of our Denomination of Origin Bierzo wines that we make in the winery has been awarded with a Gold Medal in the same contest. This is the case of the red wine Laderas del Norte, scored with 91 points from the jury of Sommeliers Choice Awards.

For those who may not know it yet, it should be noted that the jury of Sommeliers Choice Awards  are the best sommeliers, wine directors and local buyers in restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs in the United States.
